Looking for someone to speak at a Marriage Conference or Retreat?

My wife (Lori) and I would love to come to your event and share our insights about marriage.  Rick and Lori have been married over 38 years and have been blessed with four wonderful children. They are now enjoying time with eight grandchildren with one more arriving. Rick has been a youth pastor and now lead pastor for almost 40 years. Ministering and counseling couples, families and teenagers has been one of his passions. When he has free time, he enjoys running, outdoor activities, and watching all sports. Rick coached track and cross country at Lakeland Union High School for over 20 years and was inducted on their Wall of Fame.

Lori is a RN with most of her career working in the hospital emergency department. Her free time is spent biking, baking, reading, hiking and serving with the youth group as a leader. Having served churches in Chicago, Iowa and now in northern Wisconsin for the past 25 years, we have seen the benefits of marriage and the pitfalls of divorce for families from all walks of life. Because of marriage challenges that all couples face, Rick wrote a book entitled Before You Say I Don’t. The purpose of it is to help couples walk through and consider the impact decisions have in regards to marriage, children, friends, and culture. Learning about and understanding their identity in Christ has impacted how they view life and specifically how to relate and accept their strengths and weaknesses. Their personal faith in a God who has brought the dead back to life reminds us that He can restore and revive any marriage situation.

Host a Marriage Tune-up Workshop

The MARRIAGE TUNE-UP offers you the chance to tune up and celebrate your marriage. It is God’s desire for you to enjoy your time together and begin to fire on all gears. We understand the importance of getting the oil changed frequently, or having our teeth cleaned regularly. Our marriage is the most vital relationship we have, next to our relationship with Jesus, and therefore it is important to protect it and keep it running smoothly. We must avoid the “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mentality, especially when it comes to our marriage covenant. It is especially true if there are warning lights in your emotional or relational dashboard.
These warning lights may not indicate major trouble, but they may simply be telling you that something needs attention.
There are normal challenges in marriage for all couples and therefore it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re on the verge of a breakdown. But there can be some areas that shouldn’t be ignored, and it’s always wise to stop and check things out. It may just be time for a tune-up. While we are busy taking care of home, family, friends, work and more, it is important that we make an effort to stay connected to our spouse so that we can maintain a relationship that has strength and intimacy ‘til death do we part.’
Proverbs 4:23 says, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” You don’t have to wait until your marriage “Check Engine” light is on before you seek help. Use this opportunity to make your marriage, family and life run better by attending this workshop.
